"Stronger Communities Are Safer Communities", as the motto of the Lee County Sheriff's Office, this simple statement reflects my belief that my role as the chief law enforcement officer in Lee County is to build strong communities. Shane Carter Taylor, age 28, was taken into custody and charged with one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, one count of possession of a stolen firearm, one count of felony possession with the intent to sell and deliver marijuana, one count of possession with the intent to sell and deliver a schedule III controlled substance, one count of possession with the intent to sell and deliver a schedule IV controlled substance, one count of felony maintaining a dwelling place for the storage and sales of an illegal controlled substance, and one count of misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. One of the pistols was entered as a stolen firearm. During the course of the search agents located 965 grams of marijuana, 54 dosage units of Suboxone, 488 dosage units of Xanax, two assault rifles, one shotgun, and four pistols. Recipients are also featured on the Carolina Panthers Community Captain Horse Trailer on County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics agents executed a search warrant on the residence located at 1874 Saunders Road, Sanford, NC. Winners will receive an authentic Community Captain jersey and will have the opportunity to participate in select Panthers community outreach events with current Panthers players. The 2006 Carolina Panthers Community Captain Class will be recognized during a special on-field ceremony at the Panthers final regular season home game versus the Pittsburg Steelers on December 17th. Beginning with Week 1 and ending with Week 10 of the Carolina Panthers regular season schedule, the team will select ten elite high school student-athletes as Community Captains. of Reidsville High School (Reidsville, NC). Hanna High School (Anderson, SC), Reid Phillips of Myers Park High School (Charlotte, NC), Gray Gardner of Camden High School (Camden, SC), Samuel "Quinn" Barham of Hillside High School (Durham, NC), Brandon Yeargan of Charlotte Christian Schools (Charlotte, NC) and Julius Graves, Jr. The Community Captain Class of 2006 recipients so far this season are Kerry Neal of Bunn High School (Bunn, NC), Cameron Ford of T.L. Graves has received recruitment interest from North Carolina State, Virginia Tech, Georgia, James Madison University, University of Richmond, and University of Maryland. He is a member of the Who's Who Among High School Students and has been awarded multiple academic honors such as the North Star Achiever Award, the Math Award, and National Honor Roll honors. "I have strived to be a leader in the classroom by taking the most challenging courses and receiving good grades," said Graves, Jr. Graves prides himself on fulfilling his academic responsibilities as a student-athlete, achieving a 3.8 grade point average. Additionally, he is a Junior Volunteer at his local hospital assisting the nursing home staff and its residents. also serves as a Peer Mediator at Reidsville High School, while participating at the Rockingham County Teen Court as a regular volunteer. These programs provide tutoring and mentoring for middle school students. This Community Captain serves community based programs Students of Promise (SOP) and Save Our Schools (SOS). Graves selection is based upon his efforts in strengthening his community and surrounding schools.
